Role Overview

We are seeking a Payments Solutions Consultant to join our rapidly growing Payments Practice in North America. This role is ideal for a payments professional who combines deep industry expertise with strong consulting, solutioning, and client engagement capabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, sales teams, solution architects, and delivery organizations to shape and execute payment transformation initiatives. This individual will help organizations modernize payment ecosystems, improve operational efficiencies, optimize customer experiences, and adopt emerging payment technologies.

In addition to delivery-focused engagements, the Payments Solutions Consultant will support business development activities, including proposal development, client presentations, solution workshops, executive briefings, and thought leadership initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Consulting

• Engage with clients to understand strategic business objectives, payment capabilities, operational challenges, and modernization priorities.
• Conduct discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and workshops to gather requirements and assess current-state environments.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by providing industry insights, best practices, and strategic recommendations.

Payment Transformation & Solutioning

• Define solution approaches and transformation roadmaps aligned with business goals and industry trends.
• Advise clients on payment modernization initiatives, payment orchestration, payment operations transformation, real-time payments, integrated payables, and digital payment ecosystems.
• Support initiatives involving payment platforms, payment rails, operational optimization, regulatory compliance, and customer experience enhancement.

Business Development & Pre-Sales Support

• Collaborate with sales, account management, and practice leaders to support business development efforts.
• Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, statements of work, solution presentations, business cases, and executive-facing materials.
• Participate in client meetings, capability presentations, and strategic discussions to articulate the value of Incedo's payments offerings.
• Support go-to-market initiatives and thought leadership activities to strengthen Incedo's market presence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with architects, delivery teams, and client stakeholders to ensure solution alignment and successful execution.
• Bridge business and technology teams by translating business objectives into practical solution recommendations.
• Facilitate alignment across multiple stakeholders throughout transformation engagements.

Industry Leadership

• Stay current on emerging payment technologies, market trends, regulatory developments, and modernization initiatives.
• Represent the Payments Practice in industry forums, strategic client discussions, and consulting engagements.
• Contribute to the evolution of Incedo's payment consulting frameworks, accelerators, and solution offerings.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience within payments, banking, fintech, consulting, or payment technology organizations.
• Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, payment processing lifecycles, payment operations, and emerging industry trends.
• Experience supporting payment transformation, payment modernization, digital payments, transaction banking, treasury services, integrated payables, or real-time payments initiatives.
• Knowledge of payment rails and networks, including ACH, Wire, RTP, FedNow, SWIFT, Cross-Border Payments, Cards, Digital Wallets, and emerging payment solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior business stakeholders and technology leaders.
• Strong consulting, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience contributing to client proposals, solution development, executive presentations, business cases, or pre-sales activities.
• Ability to lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and requirements-gathering initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting payment modernization programs and ISO 20022 transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of embedded payments, open banking, treasury management solutions, payment operations transformation, or digital banking initiatives.
• Familiarity with banking platforms, payment processors, fintech ecosystems, and payment technology providers.
• Understanding of modern technology architectures, APIs, cloud-based platforms, and digital transformation initiatives within financial services.
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance considerations, including AML, sanctions screening, KYC/KYB, and payment risk management.
• Experience working with banks, payment networks, processors, fintech firms, or consulting organizations.
