This role combines technical architecture, customer engagement, and strategic solution design across enterprise hosting, hybrid cloud, storage, backup, and disaster recovery environments.The ideal candidate is comfortable leading technical discussions with customers, designing resilient IBM i and Power-based solutions, and partnering closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver outcomes that align with business and operational goals.What You'll Do:Design and architect IBM Power Systems and IBM i solutions for enterprise and mid-market customersLead infrastructure modernization, migration, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery initiativesDevelop hybrid infrastructure solutions integrating colocation, managed services, cloud, and on-prem platformsServe as the technical lead during customer discovery sessions, solution presentations, and architectural reviewsCollaborate with Sales teams to align technical strategy with customer business requirementsCreate solution documentation, diagrams, scopes, and technical recommendationsWork cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure solution feasibility and operational alignmentProvide technical mentorship and contribute to architectural standards and best practicesWhat You'll Bring:5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering, or related technical consulting rolesStrong expertise with IBM Power Systems, IBM i (AS/400), PowerVM, and IBM PowerVSExperience designing and supporting enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutionsStrong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, hosting, and hybrid cloud environmentsExperience presenting technical solutions directly to customers and executive stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical conceptsPreferred/Bonus Experience:x86 server infrastructure design and administrationVMware virtualization platformsPublic cloud platforms such as AWS or AzureExperience with managed hosting or colocation environmentsFamiliarity with enterprise networking and security conceptsWith over 20 years in business, LightEdge offers a full stack of best-in-class IT services delivering flexibility, security, and control.
