CALTRANS MAINTENANCE MANAGER II

Region Manager – CALTRANS MAINTENANCE MANAGER II $8,625.00 - $10,724.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Under the general direction of the District Division Chief of Maintenance, the Region Manager directs all field Maintenance program activities for the East Region. Responsibilities include implementing, evaluating, and managing region activities and operations in accordance with maintenance program policies and procedures, and in alignment with the Department's Mission, Vision, and Goals. The incumbent consults with District and Headquarters management to apply policies and procedures to effectively maintain the highway and roadside infrastructures in San Diego and Imperial County within budget and resource allocations. The incumbent is responsible for 20+ maintenance crews and a minimum of 200 positions. Possession of a valid Class C Driver's License is required. Minimum Requirements Valid Class C Driver's License Minimum salary $8,625.00 – $10,724.00 per month Travel to Imperial County up to 50% or more a week Desirable Qualifications Breadth of experience in varied maintenance activities, such as road, special crews, and landscape maintenance in rural and metropolitan locations. Technical training in construction, maintenance, or chemical application fields; college-level coursework in public administration, management, and supervision. Class A or B driver license. Familiarity with office automation equipment and computer systems. Valid Agricultural Pest Control Adviser License issued by the California Environmental Protection Agency (CAL-EPA) covering the following categories: (A) control of insects, mites, and other invertebrates; (D) control of vertebrate pests; (E) control of weeds; (G) regulation of plant growth. Valid Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) issued by CAL-EPA covering the following categories: (B) Landscape Maintenance; (C) Right-Of-Way.
