Position Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the Director of Educational Services provides leadership, oversight, and support for assigned TK-8 schools and educational programs to ensure high levels of student achievement, instructional excellence, and operational effectiveness.
The Director serves as a key member of the District's leadership team and is responsible for supporting principals in implementing District priorities, improving instructional practices, monitoring student outcomes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Board policies. The position promotes continuous improvement through collaboration, professional learning, data-informed decision-making, and alignment with the District's Vision, Mission, and Values.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Valid California Administrative Services Credential required
Experience
- Successful public school teaching experience required
- Minimum of three years of successful site principal experience or central office leadership experience required
- Experience in instructional leadership, school improvement, curriculum implementation, and educational program management preferred Knowledge
- Academic program design and delivery systems, including Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement processes
- Educational laws, regulations, policies, and compliance requirements
- Principles and practices of educational leadership and organizational improvement

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Instructional Leadership and School Support
- Provide leadership, direction, support, and accountability to assigned principals
- Support implementation of District instructional priorities, curriculum, and academic initiatives
- Monitor instructional effectiveness and student achievement outcomes across assigned schools
- Guide principals in evaluating instructional practices and classroom implementation of state standards and curriculum frameworks
- Assist school leaders in aligning instructional programs and interventions to meet student needs
- Promote effective instructional leadership practices that improve teaching and learning
- Leadership Development and Capacity Building
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate assigned principals
- Provide ongoing professional learning and leadership development opportunities
- Organize and facilitate principal meetings and collaborative leadership structures
- Support leadership teams in implementing best practices to accelerate student learning and staff growth
- Empower school sites to make informed decisions that directly support student success
- Program Oversight and Continuous Improvement
- Monitor implementation of curriculum, assessments, professional learning, and educational programs
- Support development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of site educational plans
- Ensure alignment between District goals, school improvement efforts, and resource allocation
- Utilize data to identify trends, evaluate effectiveness, and support continuous improvement
- Assist schools in meeting academic performance goals and accountability expectations
- Operational Leadership and Compliance
- Provide guidance and support to site administrators regarding operational functions including facilities, finance, transportation, food services, human resources, and other support services
- Ensure assigned schools comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and requirements
- Develop and communicate procedures, expectations, and practices related to instructional and operational matters
- Support implementation of District policies, administrative regulations, and strategic initiatives
- Community Engagement and Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as an advocate for assigned schools
- Respond to parent concerns and participate in meetings with families and community stakeholders
- Foster positive relationships among schools, families, community organizations, and District departments
- Support community engagement efforts that strengthen partnerships and advance student success
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, families, and community members regarding District priorities and initiatives
- Strategic Planning and Resource Management
- Assist in developing and implementing long-range and short-range goals aligned with District priorities
- Support financial and resource planning to advance instructional and organizational goals
- Monitor progress toward District objectives and provide regular updates to District leadership
- Recommend strategies and actions that support effective use of resources and continuous improvement
- Supervision and Other Duties
- Supervise staff as assigned

Terms of Employment
SALARY: $166,728 - $201,949 Annually, 223 days
(max salary includes longevity & education stipends)
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Conditions Of Employment
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
