Government Audit Manager

Rapidly growing CPA firm in need of an Audit Manager specialized in State and Local Government audits - Opportunity for advancement - Flexible work arrangements. Support for relocation available.Act as the intermediary between the Partner, client, and staff. Manage various auditing and accounting projects simultaneously, including coordinating workflow, scheduling, and staffing. Develop and mentor staff, establish connections to attract new clients, and maintain client relationships.ResponsibilitiesOversee all phases of multiple audit and review engagementsMaintain regular communication with clients, understand their operations and control systems, and build strong relationshipsUpdate Partner on client account developments, identify potential issues, and propose solutionsDemonstrate technical proficiency, ensure work quality meets professional standards, and advise clients accordinglySchedule engagements effectivelyUnderstand and apply the firm's audit approachCreate, track, and adhere to budgets for assignments, address budget overruns, and identify scope expansion opportunitiesAnticipate engagement challenges and questionsReview financial statements and other client deliverablesSupervise and review work of senior and staff accountantsContribute to staff evaluations and trainingParticipate in business development effortsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldAt least five years of public accounting experience, with a focus on auditing state and local governmentsActive CPA licensePreferred Qualifications:Strong leadership skills and ability to work well in a teamEfficiently manage priorities and meet deadlinesIn-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GASB standardsExperience with GAGAS, GAAS, and Uniform GuidanceResponsive to training and feedbackAbility to guide and train staffExposure to nonprofit auditsWorking ConditionsHybrid work model (office, home, client sites) as necessaryLocal and out-of-town travel for client meetings and engagementsOvertime expected during peak seasonsFirst Name(Required)Last Name(Required)Email(Required)PhoneResumeResume(Required)Max. file size: 100 MB.MessageDo you agree to receive text messages from Gables Search Group sent from View phone number on click.appcast.io & View phone number on click.appcast.io?
