Cost Control Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Cost Control Specialist to support project and program teams by managing project financial performance and ensuring accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial visibility, identifying cost risks, and supporting project leadership with data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost reports, and financial forecasts
• Track actual costs against approved budgets and analyze cost variances
• Prepare monthly cost performance reports and support earned value analysis
• Monitor commitments, contracts, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Maintain cost control systems and ensure data integrity across project financial tools
• Provide cash flow forecasting and cost projections for project planning
• Support project managers with financial insights and cost control strategies
• Identify cost risks and recommend corrective actions when needed
• Coordinate with accounting, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Contribute to portfolio-level cost tracking and financial performance reporting

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cost control, project controls, or project financial management
• Experience supporting large infrastructure, construction, engineering, or utility projects preferred
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis
• Experience with project financial systems, ERP platforms, and cost management tools
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
