Manager, Inventory Operations Location: USA – Denton, N Western Blvd Division: Solutions | Time Type: Full Time Position Summary The Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining a perpetual record integrity to ensure the inventory accuracy within the facility while maximizing space utilization. The Inventory Manager monitors inventory levels, product movement, controls non‑conforming product, and ensures a conforming product mix that facilitates efficient order fulfillment. The Inventory Manager oversees the functions performed by inventory associates and other staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Input data accurately into WMS. Efficiently stack and store product in appropriate area. Maintain and enhance client relationships. Develop and implement a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards. Develop and monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards. Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary. Delegate work and responsibility to subordinates. Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate the work of inventory staff and subordinates. Analyze daily cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical count and perpetual record. Analyze directed cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical count and perpetual record. Audit the daily error report and make corrections as necessary. Analyze and publish monthly data from WMS reports, indicating monthly and year‑to‑date totals of cycle‑count dollar variances. Analyze stock‑in/outs transactions on material for validity against the product structure. Analyze miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action as appropriate. Serve as the distribution leader for Physical Inventory. Gain complete knowledge of the online Inventory Audit Trail to facilitate research toward corrective action. Drive process improvements and prepare monthly reports highlighting major problems and updates on projects or assignments. Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., in‑transit report, shipping adjustments). Assist with associate relations and training. Audit the warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area and promote safety among the work crew. Transmit e‑mails to DSV representatives and clients as required, write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports for the operations manager, follow up with attendance reports, write counseling memos, and perform evaluations. All communications must be accurate and professional. Conduct daily startup meetings, encouraging associates to provide feedback, work as a team, and help with their development. Coordinate operations with the manager to ensure completion of daily objectives and discuss any internal or external issues that involve the operation. Provide good communication and motivational techniques, ensuring all company rules are followed. Provide management with information regarding labor/equipment needs to meet customer demands. Develop team leaders and ensure that associate expectations are being met. OTHER DUTIES (Site Specific) Assist management as needed. Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required. Participate in cross‑training matrix activities to improve knowledge in multiple departments and be available as a backup associate when needed. Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with the leadership team to communicate policies and procedures. Responsible for inventory leads, associates, and CSR within the department. Ensure training and development for associates’ knowledge of product placement and equipment usage.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 4 years of experience in distribution/logistics. 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a logistics or distribution environment. Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE). Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months (mild to moderate). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations: Completion of a forklift training program.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Computer Skills Basic computer skills. Use of RF scanners. Knowledge of WMS functions. Microsoft Excel. Language Skills English – reading, writing, verbal. Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products. Other Trained and/or certified in common inventory management methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma and Lean. Ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with leaders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, and support project team members to learn and master continuous improvement concepts and skills in an indirect supervisory relationship. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and secure working environment. Develop a positive rapport and maintain strong working relations with every level in the organization, including internal and external customers. Interfacing skills and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism with customers, vendors, management team members, and hourly associates. Strong planning, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Analytical and results‑oriented. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to facilitate groups in forums. Ability to develop staff through example, training, delegation, mentoring, and empowering associates at all levels. Passion for continuous improvement. Can‑do attitude with a sense of urgency and dedication to the overall business mission.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

College degree in logistics, supply chain, or operations. 6+ years in a 3PL environment. Current or prior MHE certification. Able to operate an electric pallet jack and dock loader (Pacer) when needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & COMPENSATION

Work is performed in a warehouse environment with low to moderate noise. The expected base pay range is $86,000.00 – $106,000.00 per year, determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
