Budget Officer

Duties
Manages day-to-day Budget Services Branch operations for budget formulation, operating plan review, budget execution, issuance of allowances, account balancing, and funds-status reporting to ensure budgetary resources are accurately recorded and controlled.
Maintains accountability for recurring and non-recurring Advice of Allowances by appropriation, allowance, fund value, budget activity/program, and location; reconciles balances to Advice of Allotment and supporting financial reports.
Analyzes budgetary accounts and performs periodic reconciliations between budget and accounting records to identify variances, over-obligations, unsupported balances, or other funds control issues and initiates corrective action.
Develops and updates local budget procedures, methods, internal controls, and operating guidance to implement applicable appropriation law, budget policy, and financial-management requirements.
