This role is responsible for supporting release governance, ensuring compliance with established processes, and minimizing operational risk during SAP and related technology deployments. The SAP Change & Release Manager will serve as a key liaison between SAP functional teams, Basis teams, developers, and business stakeholders, coordinating release activities, managing transport processes, facilitating governance discussions, and supporting successful production deployments across multiple environments.Core Responsibilities

• Define, manage, and communicate SAP release schedules across development, quality assurance, and production environments for routine, emergency, major project, standalone, standard, and planned deployments.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, testing, tracking, governance activities, and risk management for SAP and third-party application releases hosted internally and externally.
• Communicate release plans, status, risks, dependencies, and changes with business representatives, technical teams, and leadership stakeholders.
• Analyze and coordinate parallel releases, architectural and engineering changes, multi-environment deployments, testing activities, and portfolio-level release impacts.
• Partner with change and release management teams to ensure successful delivery of releases into production, including release checkpoints, health checks, and go/no-go decision support.
• Support the development, communication, coordination, and maintenance of centralized release management and transport management processes.
• Maintain release documentation, governance board materials, release calendars, process documentation, and release-related communications.
• Oversee SAP transport sequencing, dependency management, import log reviews, and risk mitigation activities to prevent transport conflicts, transport overwrite issues, and dual-maintenance challenges.
• Facilitate or actively contribute to Change and Release Management Board meetings, evaluating business risk, downtime requirements, deployment readiness, and rollback strategies.
• Manage release-related incidents and trouble tickets, coordinate issue resolution efforts, track corrective actions, and lead root-cause analysis activities.Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Experience working in SAP Change Management, Release Management, or related ERP release governance environments.
• Strong understanding of complex ERP portfolios and how ERP platforms interact with organizational processes, applications, and team structures.
• Experience coordinating SAP releases across multiple environments, deployment types, and stakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of SAP transport management, transport sequencing, dependency analysis, import processes, and release risk mitigation practices.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to effectively manage interactions with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
• Experience supporting release governance processes, release planning, testing coordination, change control activities, and deployment readiness reviews.
• Ability to analyze release risks, conflicts, dependencies, and operational impacts across concurrent initiatives.
