Our New York studio is seeking a Senior Architectural Technical Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of core & shell , adaptive reuse , and building repositioning projects across North America. This is a key role for a technical expert with deep experience in existing buildings, complex envelope systems, and high-performance design solutions.

Your Role

As a Senior Architectural Technical Architect at M Moser, you will shape the technical direction of major core & shell and adaptive reuse projects — from feasibility and concept through construction. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will ensure that every design is both technically sound and aligned with our commitment to sustainable, human-centered, and high-performing environments .

You will be a trusted advisor to both clients and internal teams, guiding technical decision-making and elevating the quality and rigor of our work.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership

\n
• Lead the technical development of complex core & shell and adaptive reuse projects across all phases of design.
\n
• Develop building envelope strategies, structural integration, and construction detailing that optimize sustainability, performance, and resilience.
\n
• Conduct existing-building assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence to inform repositioning strategies.
\n
• Oversee documentation quality, BIM standards, and technical consistency across project teams.
\n

Integrated Design Collaboration

\n
• Work closely with design leaders to translate conceptual ideas into buildable, innovative architectural solutions.
\n
• Partner with in-house workplace strategists, engineers, sustainability experts, and construction managers to deliver holistic, integrated outcomes.
\n
• Guide teams in applying principles of human-centered design, energy performance, wellness, and material responsibility.
\n

Coordination & Execution

\n
• Lead coordination efforts across structural, MEP, façade, civil, and sustainability disciplines.
\n
• Direct the development of detailed Revit documentation, specifications, and technical assemblies.
\n
• Facilitate technical workshops, BIM coordination meetings, and interdisciplinary reviews to ensure alignment.
\n

Construction Administration

\n
• Support clients and contractors through pricing, pre-construction, and construction phases.
\n
• Lead site visits, respond to RFIs, review submittals, and resolve technical field challenges.
\n
• Uphold design and technical integrity throughout construction.
\n

Mentorship & Studio Leadership

\n
• Mentor junior and intermediate architects on technical excellence, code knowledge, detailing, and construction methods.
\n
• Contribute to studio-wide technical standards, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
\n
• Support the growth of a strong technical culture within the New York office.
\n

What You Bring

\n
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
\n
• 10–15+ years of architectural experience, with a strong record delivering core & shell , adaptive reuse , and existing-building projects.
\n
• Deep expertise in building envelopes, structural coordination, waterproofing, and high-performance building systems.
\n
• Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code , zoning, energy codes, and permitting for existing buildings.
\n
• Proficiency in Revit , Bluebeam , and BIM coordination platforms; familiarity with BIM 360 , Enscape , and performance modeling tools a plus.
\n
• Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical specifications.
\n
• Working knowledge of AI integration and workflows.
\n
• Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks such as LEED, WELL, Fitwel, and Passive House.
\n
• Licensed Architect preferred.
\n
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
\n
