Director of Risk management - Global Industrial

SUMMARY:The Director of Risk Management leads the company’s enterprise risk management program, identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, financial, legal, and strategic risks across the organization. This position joins the newly created legal team at Motion Industries’ Atlanta, GA location; the role will be reporting to Motion Industries’ VP - Legal. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, driven, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic public company environment.JOB DUTIESOversee the corporate insurance portfolio, including placement and renewal of coverage, claims management, and management of relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administratorsDevelop and implement risk policies, safety and loss-prevention initiatives, and business continuity plansAdvise the VP - Legal, senior management, and business teams on risk exposures and risk mitigation strategiesPrepare and present regular reports on the company’s risk profile, insurance program, and claims activity to senior leadership and the Board of Directors, as appropriateParticipate in the enterprise risk management program, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational, financial, legal, and strategic risksPartner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, Safety, Internal Audit, and Human Resources, to embed risk awareness into business processesManage and develop the risk management team; coordinate with outside counsel and external advisors as neededMonitor regulatory developments and industry trends affecting risk management, insurance, and business continuityPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSBachelor’s degree (advanced degree or professional risk/insurance certification such as ARM, CPCU, or similar a plus)Significant experience in enterprise risk management, corporate insurance, and claims managementMinimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, including in a corporate risk or insurance function (leadership experience preferred)Proven ability to manage internal and external relationships, including brokers, carriers, and third-party administratorsExceptional communicatorSelf-starter and responsiveAble to work collaboratively; team playerStrong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgencyCOMPANY INFORMATION: Motion offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcare coverage, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, vacation, sick, and holiday pay.DISCLAIMER: This job description illustrates the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this job classification.
