Bakery Clerk

Responsible for reviewing daily orders, preparing & replenishing products in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner. Additionally you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Core competencies include partnerships, growth mindset, results orientation, customer focus, professionalism. Reporting relations include District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Bakery Department Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, reviewing the status and appearance of the food for freshness, reviewing orders for the day, working with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment, understanding and practicing proper sanitation procedures, ensuring the work area is always clean and neat, preparing, finishing, and replenishing product as necessary, running the department registers and receiving payment, making change, etc., where applicable, removing trash in a timely manner, maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress, adhering to company policies and individual store guidelines, and reporting to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include washing dishes as necessary, ordering product and supplies as necessary, pricing products for customers as necessary, delivering orders as needed, assisting in other areas of store as needed, and performing other job related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, skills, abilities and worker characteristics include the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions, deal with a few concrete variables, do simple addition and subtraction, copying figures, counting and recording, understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, request supplies orally or in writing, and possess the ability to perform the physical activities required for the job.

Education and experience include less than high school or equivalent experience and six months of less of similar or related work experience.
