Senior Accounting Manager

A leading public company is seeking a Senior Manager, Segment Accounting to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for a major business segment. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving challenging problems, and has a track record of strengthening controls, improving close processes, and developing high-performing teams. You'll serve as the accounting leader for the segment, partnering with finance, operations, audit, and executive leadership to ensure accurate reporting, drive process improvements, and create a sustainable control environment. What You'll Own Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for a large operating segment Ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial results and reporting Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses Drive remediation efforts for internal control and process improvement initiatives Partner with Internal Audit, SOX, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and external auditors Support SEC reporting requirements, including 10-Q and 10-K deliverables Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and reporting enhancements Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting managers and senior accountants What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA strongly preferred 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Public company accounting experience Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance Experience leading teams through periods of transformation and change Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills Preferred Experience Big 4 or national public accounting background Segment Controller or business unit accounting leadership experience Internal control remediation and process redesign experience Exposure to Oracle ERP, FCCS, ARCS, or other financial reporting systems Why This Opportunity?
