About Children’s Minnesota Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not‑for‑profit system since 1924, Children’s Minnesota serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free‑standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics and seven rehabilitation sites. Department Overview Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33‑bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants, children and young adults in hematology, oncology, general medical/surgical care, and behavioral crisis monitoring. Staff specialize in care for hematology and oncology patients, including new diagnoses, transfusions, chemotherapy, central line maintenance, and end‑of‑life care. The unit also cares for general medical/surgical patients with non‑infectious illnesses to maintain a clean environment for vulnerable patients. The unit collaborates with outpatient clinics to coordinate chemotherapy treatment. Position Summary Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standards. Education High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. Experience One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent, preferred. Skills and Abilities Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required. Strong organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position. Basic computer operation skills.
