Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dynamic opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist with experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy settings. This contract-to-hire position offers a 26-week assignment with potential for direct hire, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Location: Reading, PA
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications to patients.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect any patterns of over-usage.
• Ensure medication supplies comply with legal requirements.
• Verify appropriateness of prescribed medications and educate patients on their use, potential reactions, and answer related inquiries.
• Maintain detailed and confidential patient records and pharmacy files with accuracy.
• Provide consultation on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including guidance on storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper usage and care of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications as needed for external or internal use and prepare sterile products.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain workflow and quality.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies ensuring consistent availability.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to optimize patient care and resolve drug-related issues.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacy License.
• Prior pharmacy experience, ideally within long-term care or mail order environments.
• Strong patient communication and supervisory skills.
• Ability to maintain meticulous records and manage inventory control.
