You'll work across both legacy and modern technologies, helping bridge IBM iSeries environments with web services, APIs, and enterprise integration solutions.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving existing systems, and working directly with business users to deliver practical technology solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesIBM iSeries / AS400 DevelopmentDesign, develop, test, and deploy business applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platformMaintain and enhance existing applications utilizing: RPG IV, RPGLE, Free-Form RPG, RPG III, CL and CLLEAnalyze existing programs and implement enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvementsTroubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutionJava Development & IntegrationDevelop and maintain Java-based applications and integration toolsBuild and support connectors that integrate legacy systems with modern platformsDevelop solutions that facilitate communication between IBM i systems and external applicationsSupport enterprise integration and data exchange initiativesDatabase & Data ManagementWork extensively with DB2/400 databasesCreate, modify, and optimize queries and database processesUtilize IBM query tools and reporting capabilitiesSupport embedded SQL development (SQLRPGLE) and database modernization effortsAPI & Systems ModernizationDesign and support RESTful and SOAP web servicesUtilize the IBM Integrated File System (IFS) for secure data transfers and system integrationsParticipate in modernization projects that improve interoperability and scalabilitySupport cross-platform integration and data exchange requirementsBusiness Analysis & DocumentationCollaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirementsTranslate business needs into technical specifications and development plansDocument system functionality, code changes, processes, and integration workflowsParticipate in code reviews and maintain development standardsRequired QualificationsTechnical Experience3–6 years of hands-on AS400 / IBM i development experienceStrong experience with: RPGLE, Free-Form RPG, RPG III, CL/CLLE, DB2/400Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise business applicationsAbility to analyze and troubleshoot complex application issuesJava DevelopmentMinimum 1 year of professional Java development experienceStrong understanding of object-oriented programming principlesExperience working with: JSON, XML, SOAP services, API integrationsDatabase & Integration KnowledgeExperience with data exchange, web services, and integration developmentKnowledge of API design and implementationFamiliarity with IBM IFS and data transfer processesSQL experience highly desirablePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldExperience with embedded SQL (SQLRPGLE)Experience modernizing legacy applicationsExposure to enterprise integration projectsKnowledge of software development lifecycle best practicesExperience working in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or enterprise operational environments redShift
