Shipping and Receiving Clerk

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports day-to-day warehouse and stockroom operations by handling incoming and outgoing materials with accuracy and care. Typical duties include unloading deliveries, checking shipments against packing slips, inspecting items for visible damage, labeling products, updating inventory records, and preparing outbound packages for pickup or transfer. The role may also involve organizing storage areas, moving goods with carts or pallet jacks, and coordinating with internal staff to resolve quantity or documentation issues. Baseline qualifications usually include prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or stock handling work, basic reading and counting skills, and familiarity with inventory or order-processing systems. Attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to follow safety procedures are important. Physical demands can include standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights, and frequent bending or reaching. This is a full-time position with a schedule based on operational needs, which may include weekdays and occasional extended hours.
