Job Summary:
The Dialysis Technician or Certified Medical Assistant-Hemodialysis Technician (CMA-HT) provides specialized care to patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. This role involves operating dialysis equipment, monitoring patient status during treatment, and ensuring compliance with safety and clinical protocols. The position requires certification as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) and the ability to work collaboratively within the dialysis care team. The role includes working various shifts including days, evenings, and some Saturdays. Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain hemodialysis equipment according to established protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status throughout dialysis treatments.
- Prepare patients for dialysis procedures and provide direct patient care during treatments.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards within the dialysis unit.
- Document treatment information and patient responses accurately in medical records.
- Assist with patient education and respond to patient needs during dialysis sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.
- Current WA state MA-HT certification or equivalent.
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) national certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in a dialysis clinic or similar healthcare setting.
- Additional certifications related to patient care or dialysis technology.
- Must be available to work alternating shifts including days, evenings, and some Saturdays.
- Compliance with all infection control and safety protocols is mandatory.
- Ability to work in a patient-centered, team-oriented environment.
- Work schedule includes rotating shifts with day and evening hours.
- Weekend work, including some Saturdays, is required.
