Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit position providing care for neuro and stroke patients in a specialized intensive care setting. The role requires strong critical-care skills, effective teamwork, time management, accountability, and communication with the care team.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts are 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Intensive Care Unit experience; experience caring for neuro and stroke patients; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit experience; experience with Meditech documentation; ability to care for four to five patients when assigned to a neuroscience step-down unit.
- Additional Information: The role involves caring for patients with complex neurological conditions and may include ventriculostomy insertion, post-thrombectomy care, post-tissue plasminogen activator administration care, post-tumor resection and biopsy care, lumbar drain management, ventriculostomy management, and hourly pupillometer monitoring. The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive attitude, works effectively as part of a team, manages time efficiently, remains accountable, and communicates well with the care team.
