As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to employees and visitors. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $19.09 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon06:00 AM - 02:00 PMTue06:00 AM - 02:00 PMWed06:00 AM - 02:00 PMThur06:00 AM - 02:00 PMFri06:00 AM - 02:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to transit riders, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate transit personnel and emergency responders as directed. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, entrances, surrounding areas, and other assigned locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations. Monitor access points and observe passenger flow and facility activity, helping to maintain an orderly environment in accordance with posted rules and site requirements. Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized personnel. Minimum Requirements: Possess a New York State Security Guard License. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
