Dental Provider

Provides quality, comprehensive general dental services in an ambulatory care setting. The incumbents in this job have routine access to individually identifiable health information including the patients' entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only. All employees of NCHC are responsible to practice good risk management, quality assurance, and deliver excellent internal and external customer service. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Examines patients to determine nature of condition utilizing radiographs, dental instruments and other approved diagnostic procedures.
• Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of the oral cavity and related oral structures.
• Consults with licensed medical and dental professionals in determining appropriate course of care and treatment.
• Refers patients to appropriate medical and dental specialists
• Assists in the clinical supervision of dental assistants and dental hygienists.
• Maintains accurate, legible and timely patient records.
• Maintains records, files, logs and reports in accordance with the Health Center and statutory / regulatory policies or requirements.
• Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Assists in a team-centered approach to develop and maintain a high quality of health care in the community.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Properly maintains equipment as necessary.
• Provides in-service training for the professional and ancillary staff.
• Assists the Dental Director in program planning.
• Participates in quality assurance audits.
• Meets patient utilization standards as set forth by NCHC.

Qualifications:

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
• License to practice dentistry in New Jersey.
• Maintain current NJ CDS and federal DEA registration.
• Current federal NPI.
• Previous experience in dental practice preferred.
• Maintain continuing educational requirements as required for licensure and skills maintenance.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two years' experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
