About the Position

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technology Specialty: Ray Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years License: Required licenses include Radiologic Technologist and Technician Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire Must-Have: ARRT registered or registry eligible Description: Orientation is bi-weekly. Graduate of an approved course in Radiologic Technology is required. Client training during two years of an approved Radiologic Technologist program is necessary. Experience in other x-ray departments, clinics, or medical offices is highly desirable. The role requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Ability to work with minimal supervision is essential. Candidates must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Responsibilities include monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions as appropriate. The technician prepares preliminary paperwork for final interpretation. They perform exercise, pharmaceutical, and echo stress tests. Recognition of chest pain and arrhythmias during testing is required. Immediate assistance must be obtained as necessary. The technician is responsible for monitoring, receiving, and stocking supplies. Disassembly, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment is necessary. Troubleshooting minor problems and making adjustments during procedures is required. Preparation of recordings for interpretation is part of the job. Collection and review of pertinent medical and historical information for studies is required. Assistance with computerized charting and improvement of department processes is necessary. Maintaining quality to achieve optimal patient results is essential. Desirable to belong to national, state, and/or local societies.
