Security Officer, Night Shift, Security Services

Position Overview Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Security Officer for our Security Services department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Responsibilities Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, physicians and volunteers Ensure quality outcomes for the security department by communicating effectively with security, staff and the public Conduct foot patrols of the facility and parking areas Conduct vehicular patrols of the parking areas and off‑site locations Assist with restraining violent patients Use time and resources in a financially responsible manner Foster group cohesiveness within the security department Portray a positive image of the organization Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Previous security experience, preferably in a hospital setting Must possess a US Driver’s License Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must be able to respond to physically demanding emergency calls Work Schedule Employment Type: Full‑time Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week Typical Daily Schedule: 12 AM–8:30 PM Shift Type: Night Weekend Requirements: Required/ every weekend rotation (Days off during the week) Holiday Requirements: Required /Follow company holiday calendar On‑Call: no Shift Differential Eligible: Yes Pay Range: $19.21 - $24.90 Classification Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) this position is classified as: Non‑Exempt.
