Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Libertyville, IL
Work Model: Onsite
Experience: 5 7 Years
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $50/hr on C2C
Type: Contract
Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with strong expertise in molding processes, quality testing, process characterization, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical device manufacturing, PFMEA, DOE, and ISO 13485 quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support molding process setup, operations, testing, and quality improvement.
- Perform PFMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE), and process characterization.
- Conduct test runs and analyze results to identify yield and quality issues.
- Support root-cause analysis, problem solving, process validation, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare quality records, reports, charts, and graphs for presentation.
- Provide technical support to process development and engineering teams.
- Work with customers and internal teams on quality-related requirements.
Required Skills
- 5 7 years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Strong experience with molding/injection molding processes.
- Experience with PFMEA, DOE, process characterization, and quality testing.
- Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with yield improvement, root-cause analysis, and process improvement.
- Strong communication and customer-interface skills.
Education
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Plastics, or a related Engineering field.
