Marketing Activation Specialist, Retail & Merch

Title: Marketing Activation Specialist, Retail & Merch Industry: Cannabis Retail Location: Tampa, FL Duration: 4–5 months, ideally contract-to-hire Responsibilities Support end-to-end planning, execution, and measurement of retail activations, grand openings, community and educational events, promotional campaigns, and gift-with-purchase (GWP) initiatives. Develop and manage activation timelines, deliverables, project trackers, budgets, procurement activities, and cross-functional workflows to ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with internal teams, brand partners, vendors, third-party agencies, and field teams on event participation, creative assets, communications, logistics, and retail execution. Manage GWP, branded merchandise, and promotional swag programs, including sourcing, RFQs, vendor proposals, samples, approvals, production, inventory, shipping, storage, distribution, and fulfillment. Track KPIs and expenditures; compile post-activation reports covering attendance, engagement, traffic impact, GWP effectiveness, ROI, insights, trends, and recommendations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Event Management, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in marketing, retail marketing, brand activations, event marketing, merchandising, or a related function. Experience coordinating vendors, agencies, logistics, brand partners, or promotional merchandise programs. Experience with budget tracking, purchase requests, procurement, invoice processing, and inventory management. Experience with SAP, Smartsheet, project management platforms, or similar tools is a plus.
