Back Of House Team Leader

At Chick-fil-A, back of house team leaders are responsible for assisting the management team in all aspects of shift management and ensuring that each restaurant guest has an outstanding experience. Team leaders are responsible for supervising assigned stations for an entire shift and may be assigned to open or close the restaurant in the absence of a director, following established opening and closing procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring food safety compliance in all areas of the kitchen - with a focus on handwashing and raw chicken/cross contamination.
• Ensuring cleanliness of all areas is always top-of-mind – with a focus on customer perception.
• Adherence to all uniform standards
• Using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to come up with solutions.
• Foreseeing bottlenecks and working to try to prevent those from happening.
• Reacting quickly and calmly to situations that are having a negative impact on the shift.
• Strictly adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Working with a sense of urgency and coaching the team to do the same.
• Providing the team with direction and feedback.
• Ensuring the next shift leader is set up for success (stocked, cleaned).
• Consulting with management regarding complex issues.
• Communicating with the team effectively and respectfully and maintaining a positive working relationship with the team.
• Communicating employee performance and policy/procedure violations to management for appropriate handling.
