As a trusted resource for faculty, staff, students, and community partners, you will coordinate communications, manage schedules and records, support departmental activities, maintain digital content, and ensure important information is organized and accessible. The role combines administrative support, customer service, and technology skills, offering variety and meaningful engagement across many aspects of departmental operations. Through responsibilities ranging from managing correspondence and meeting documentation to maintaining web and social media content, you will play a valuable role in supporting faculty success, enhancing departmental communication, and helping create a positive experience for students and stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities

Answers phone calls and messages, and tracks the Culinary Arts email. Responds as appropriate.

Post all student job and internship opportunities in various places. Responds to inquiries as necessary.

Maintains media, i.e., webpage, Facebook, and electronic screens. Assists faculty and full-time staff with administrative needs.

Assists with schedules, tracks certificates and other documents, copies, and prepares materials needed for classrooms, etc.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree and one year of experience; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years. For Example:

• Associate's degree and 1 year of related experience.
• OR three years of related experience.
• OR one year of college coursework and 2 years of related experience.
• OR two years of college coursework (approximately 60 credit hours) and 1 year of related experience.
• OR a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge and experience working in an education environment. Knowledge of college policy/procedures.

Skills in office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. Skills in organization, database management, and coordination. Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and databases. Strong skills in Photoshop. Must have skills in catering procedures.

Ability to count change and keep the change drawer at the proper amount. Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports and minutes. Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions. Ability to compose and edit written materials. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to meet and work with people of various backgrounds.
