Carpenter

This temporary construction labor role supports a fast-paced project at a modular/mobile unit yard, focusing on general construction tasks, installation work, and material handling. You will use hand and power tools, assist with framing and carpentry-related activities, and help prepare and maintain units for commercial use. This position starts early in the morning, requires consistent reliability, and offers the potential to transition into a permanent opportunity based on performance and project needs.

• Perform general construction labor tasks, including site cleanup, material handling, and basic installation work.
• Assist with framing, rough carpentry, and related construction activities as directed by supervisors.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
• Support carpet installation and other interior preparation work as needed.
• Assist with basic mechanical and installation activities related to commercial construction and modular units.
• Follow instructions from lead workers and supervisors to complete daily work orders on time.
• Read and follow basic directions, drawings, or simple blueprints when required for tasks.
• Handle heavy lifting and physically demanding work throughout the shift in a construction environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with site safety standards.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including steel toe boots provided by the worker and additional PPE provided on site.
• Identify and report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or incidents to site leadership promptly.
• Work collaboratively with other crew members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
• Adapt to changing priorities and tasks as project needs evolve during the assignment.

• Proven ability to perform general labor tasks in a construction or similar hands-on environment.
• Experience with construction labor, including basic framing, rough carpentry, or related tasks.
• Proficiency using common hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work for the duration of the shift.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and installation tasks.
• Familiarity with commercial construction or installation environments.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and consistently wear required PPE.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for an early morning start time.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

• Carpet installation experience in commercial or construction settings.
• Exposure to HVAC, electrical, or other building systems in a construction environment.
• Experience reading or working from basic blueprints or drawings.
• Prior work on rough carpentry, framing, or similar trades.
• Previous experience on temporary or project-based construction assignments.
• Strong work ethic and professional representation of the staffing firm and end client.

This position is based in a construction setting at a modular/mobile unit yard, working primarily outdoors or in partially enclosed spaces. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday with a 6:30 a.m. start time, with occasional overtime possible depending on project needs. The environment is active and physically demanding, involving frequent heavy lifting, standing, bending, and moving materials throughout the shift. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools and work around framing, carpentry, installation, and general construction activities. Personal protective equipment is required at all times; you must provide your own steel toe boots, while other required PPE is supplied on site. The atmosphere is safety-focused, task-driven, and team-oriented, with clear expectations for professionalism and adherence to construction-site safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ventura, CA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
