The Registered Nurse focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of a recognized model of care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN is focused on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring or precepting staff. Key responsibilities include: - Performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. - Demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. - Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care while collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. - Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions. - Facilitating, coordinating, providing, and evaluating education specific to patient and family needs. - Delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. - Functioning as a mentor and preceptor. - Demonstrating and encouraging teamwork. - Identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement. - Participating in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. - Complying with regulatory standards.
