Salary Range: $25.69 To $36.34 Hourly

Primary Objective:

The Machinist IV will work from drawings and/or written instructions, set up and operate a variety of manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts.

Major Areas of Accountability

• Operates multiple machines at multiple work centers and performs specific machinist functions. Must be able to set up and troubleshoot machines at multiple work centers.

• Ability to prove out new part programs for production. Collaborate with programming/engineering on blueprints and programs.

• Provides instruction, training and leadership to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.

• Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications.

• Identifies dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary.

• Makes tool offsets as required.

• Completes preventative maintenance as required.

• Regularly uses microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.

• Performs other related duties as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school graduate; or

• GED; or

• BOCES Machine Shop classes; or

• Skilled trade school graduate

Experience

• 3 years of machine shop experience

• Advanced shop math skills

• Advanced blueprint reading skills

• Knowledge and demonstrated experience of CNC/ Manual machines

• Demonstrated problem solving skills

• Demonstrated experience in order of operations

• 8 years of machine shop experience

• Ability to apply concepts of trigonometry

• Advanced inspection measuring equipment knowledge
