Quality Microbiology Laboratory Technician- First Shift

Quality Microbiology Laboratory Technician position at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Meriden, Connecticut. Responsible for performing standardized laboratory testing, environmental monitoring, and quality assurance activities in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment on first shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products according to SOPs and quality control plans
• Conduct environmental monitoring including testing for bioburden, bacterial endotoxin, and particulates in air and water systems
• Prepare biological media, chemical reagents, and equipment for bacteriological and chemical testing
• Issue Certificates of Analysis and Compliance, and maintain detailed laboratory documentation and notebooks
• Support investigations of out-of-specification results and non-conforming materials management

Requirements

• Associate degree in microbiology, biology, or environmental science with 1-2 years laboratory experience, or bachelor's degree with no experience required
• Experience with microbiological techniques including aseptic technique, bioburden testing, and endotoxin testing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments and follow gowning procedures
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow complex procedures
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Compensation: $25.60–$38.39 hourly
