About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Labor Relations Strategy and Initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of economic bargaining, including the coordination, preparation, and execution of economic bargaining strategies at both local and national levels. This role is pivotal in ensuring that negotiated agreements are not only affordable and competitive but also serve to attract and retain talent while meeting the organization's short and long-term economic goals. The VP will work closely with market and national leaders on wage, benefit, and labor strategies, and will be expected to have a deep understanding of the economic environment and its potential impact on the enterprise and union dynamics. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' of HR experience in a highly complex unionized organization, with at least 10 years' of direct experience in union negotiations, administration, and problem-solving. The role requires a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and an advanced degree is preferred. The VP will be tasked with providing strategic advice on economic proposals, supporting market leadership in the development of labor strategy goals, and ensuring the alignment of sustainable wage and benefit programs. Essential responsibilities also include the development of high-quality bargaining preparation, collective bargaining execution, and the guidance of local and national bargaining with a material economic impact. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating and implementing wage and benefit provisions, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop collaborative relationships across the organization.
