Interim Controller

Work Setting: Onsite with potential for some hybrid Start : ASAP Duration : ~3-4 months Compensation : $50 - $60/hr. (based on experience and overall fit for the role) Overview Our client is seeking an Interim Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a mission-driven organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, support strategic planning, and oversee select HR functions. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close Prepare financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis for executive leadership and the Board Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, grant reporting requirements, and other regulatory standards Coordinate annual audits, oversee internal controls, and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems Partner with leadership on financial planning, business decisions, and organizational strategy Oversee insurance, risk management, and financial compliance initiatives Provide leadership and development for a small accounting and HR team while supporting payroll, benefits, and HR compliance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA (active or inactive) preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and internal controls Nonprofit or higher education experience preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Truity Partners
