Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:
The EP Lab RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care during electrophysiology procedures in an acute care hospital environment. This role involves assisting with complex cardiac procedures, monitoring patient status, and ensuring safety and compliance throughout interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Execute clinical tasks related to EP lab procedures, including monitoring and managing patient vital signs and sedation.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as cardioversion, dysrhythmia interpretation, and electrophysiology testing.
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies essential for cardiac procedures, ensuring sterility and readiness.
• Document procedural details accurately in electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
• Maintain patient safety by observing for complications and responding promptly to emergencies.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid SC or multi-state/compact RN license with current certification.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with significant EP lab exposure.
• Demonstrate proficiency in activated clotting time (ACT), cardioversion, and dysrhythmia management.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Possess a radiation badge and be familiar with radiation safety guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, emergent environment.
