Senior Accountant

The Regent Bank Sr. Accountant will assist with various accounting operations functions. This position will assist in all phases of the daily accounting operations and closing functions, including preparing journal entries, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, researching and documenting accounting issues, and assisting with special projects as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performing a variety of activities to assist the Chief Accounting Officer in maintaining the financial and accounting records of the Bank Assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures for the Accounting Department. Ensuring that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and accounting practices are in compliance with GAAP Maintaining the fixed asset and prepaid account modules Researching and identifying discrepancies through daily review and balancing of the general ledger Assisting with the accounting and record keeping of the investment portfolio Assisting with the preparation of schedules for the quarterly Call Report and other regulatory reporting requirements Preparing, examining, or analyzing accounting records, financial statements, regulatory reports, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to report and procedural standards Processing transactions and performing accounting operations, such as account maintenance, preparation of journal entries, and approving journal entries Assisting in the preparation of financial reporting and investigating account variances Performing accounting reviews, analyses and special projects as requested by management Other duties as assigned Education And/Or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience or CPA required Experience in a financial institution preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills required Familiarity with financial software Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure of deadlines Problem solving and ability to track down and resolve discrepancies or missing documentation All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background, credit, and drug screening Physical Requirements: Must exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Must occasionally lift and move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Sitting for long periods. Working Conditions: The working conditions are generally comfortable, with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust, and other related items.
