SQL Developer

Job PostingT-SQL code performance tuning. Work closely with Database Administrator to find problematic code and proactively mitigate issues before they occur, as workload and data volume changes. Help to triage and remediate problems while helping to establish proactive performance monitoring and alerting with DBA. Help develop source control policies. Help to create and implement database development policies and procedures, with best-practices. Work with Technical Team Leads and clients to define program requirements. Building and maintaining SQL scripts in Microsoft SQL Server 2008+. Building and maintaining SSIS packages. Building and maintaining production SQL jobs. Building and maintaining complex SQL queries for data analysis and data extract. Building and maintaining data mart extraction processes.Skill SetExtensive understanding of T-SQL (2008+) with years of field experience creating, modifying, and tuning complex Microsoft SQL Server objects with efficiency/performance as core objectives. Must have proven ability to tune/refactor/maintain/debug existing code as well as develop new functionality for mission-critical production environments. Expert-level understanding of execution plans including most common operators, time and io statistics, etc. Full understanding of tempdb and how to make efficient use of tempdb when necessary. Also, understand how tempdb is leveraged for different database isolation levels such as read committed snapshot. Can readily analyze and devise alternatives for triggers, cursors, indexes, etc. Thorough understanding of SQL Server indexing, join methodology, data types, statistics, and inner-workings of SQL Server cost-based optimizer. Expert understanding of the art of indexing, including strategies to consider when dealing with duplicates, missing, included, filtered, fragmented indexes, partitioning, and indexed views. Ability to document and quantify performance changes to stored procedures, indexes, etc. Enforcing policies via PBM a plus. Experience with Resource Governor a plus. Database management. Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Analyzing business processes and performing in-depth work analyses. Excellent prioritization and organization skills including ability to establish priorities independently and motivation. Strong self-initiative. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment. Clear communication skills. ETL/SSIS and SSRS experience a plus. Understanding of ASP.NET, MS EF, MongoDB and C# a plus if asked to work with application code. Minimum 5 years experience in SQL Server Development. BA/BS required and other certifications a plus.
