Registered Nurse - Clinical - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

Job Summary The Registered Nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient's hospital stay and coordinates planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer driven approach. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessment and reassessment, including age‑appropriate admission or transfer assessments, documentation of findings, and post‑op/post‑invasive procedure evaluations. Establish, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care based on patient assessment data, diagnosis, lab results, physician orders, and applicable protocols. Provide and document nursing interventions as per the plan of care, including medication administration, IV therapy, referrals, consultations, and patient/family education. Document and communicate patient condition changes, evaluate the effectiveness of care, and report significant clinical changes to the appropriate healthcare team. Deliver specialized care for high‑risk patients, including restraint care, pain management, and abuse assessment. Demonstrate accountability for professional practice, including adherence to quality standards, participation in learning and governance activities, and ongoing competency maintenance. Maintain a professional, collaborative rapport with coworkers and patients, providing guidance, education, and respectful interaction. Implement safe and effective infection control practices, maintain a clean environment, and follow all safety policies. Offer exemplary customer service, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction through proactive engagement and timely response. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, evidence‑based practice, research activities, and quality indicator maintenance. Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, and transferring patients. Knowledge of and experience with high‑risk patient care, infection control, and patient education. Strong communication, teamwork, and critical‑thinking skills. Job Specifications Working Conditions: Exposure to bloodborne diseases, varied shift hours, emergency and crisis situations. Physical Requirements: Occasional prolonged standing/walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Benefits Competitive health insurance starting 31 days from hire.
