Product Lead

Location: Brooklyn, NY or Bay Area preferred Snip is one of Mathpix's flagship products: a cross-platform app that turns handwritten notes, textbook pages, and screenshots into clean, editable LaTeX and Markdown. Millions of students, researchers, and engineers use it across iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, and the web. We're looking for a Product Lead to own Snip's roadmap and growth and make a product used by millions measurably better with every release. You'll decide what we build next by weighing user impact and revenue, work hand in hand with the client engineers across every platform, and stay close to the people who use Snip, turning what you learn into a clear understanding of our users that guides both the product and the company. You'll set the release cadence, keep the apps consistent and polished, and give Snip a strong, regular voice with its users. We're looking for a senior builder-owner rather than a classical people manager: someone who can both decide and do, technical enough to prototype small changes and write clear specs for the larger ones, fluent with modern AI tools, and energized by owning a product and its users end to end. Backgrounds vary, and strong candidates have been senior engineers, engineering managers, designers, or product managers. What you\'ll do: Own the Snip roadmap and release cadence, prioritizing by user impact and revenue Turn user research and product metrics into a clear understanding of who uses Snip and why, and share it across the company Work with the client engineers to ship consistent, polished releases across mobile, desktop, and web Prototype small improvements directly, and write clear specs the engineers build from on larger ones Run a regular product update that keeps users engaged with what is new Own the core Snip metrics: signups, activation, retention, and revenue What we\'re looking for: Senior product experience, having taken a product or major surface end to end and shipped on a predictable cadence Technical enough to prototype changes yourself and write specs engineers can build from Strong at user research and at turning conversations and data into decisions Fluent with modern AI tools Excellent written communication and sharp judgment about prioritizing by user impact and revenue Nice to have: Experience owning a cross-platform consumer or prosumer app across mobile, desktop, and web A background as a senior engineer, engineering manager, designer, or product manager Familiarity with subscription and usage metrics, retention, and churn Experience with math, science, or education products, or with LaTeX and Markdown Contributions outside of work, such as personal projects, open-source, articles, or blog posts If you believe you would be a good fit for this role, please apply using the link below. #J-18808-Ljbffr Mathpix
