Salary Range: $50K - $65K

\n

Our intellectual property law firm is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant to oversee the firm’s financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing client billing and trust accounts, and providing timely financial reports to firm leadership.

\n

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
\n
• Maintain attorney trust and IOLTA accounts in compliance with state bar requirements.
\n
• Prepare client invoices, monitor retainers, track expenses, and follow up on outstanding balances.
\n
• Assist clients with billing questions and resolve discrepancies.
\n
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow summaries.
\n
• Coordinate tax preparation and maintain accurate, audit-ready records.
\n
• Process USPTO fee payments and client cost recovery.
\n
• Maintain QuickBooks and the firm’s billing and practice management systems.
\n
• Recommend improvements to accounting and billing processes.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Three or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
\n
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and billing software.
\n
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
\n
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly.
\n
• Law firm, trust/IOLTA accounting, or intellectual property billing experience is strongly preferred.
\n
