Description: Department: Medical-Surgical # of Beds: 24, 17, 15 (3 units are under the same umbrella, staff works interchangeably). Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 days and 1:5-6 nights. Common Diagnoses: Post Operative - General/Orthopedic/Podiatry. General Medical - Diabetes Mellitus, Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Cellulitis. Experience with Continuous Bladder Irrigation, Bipap, Peritoneal Dialysis (training available), surgical drains, wound vacs. Charge Nurse has patients; House Supervisor is available 24/7 without patient assignments. Nurse Aids are available with assignments based on acuity. Typical duties include support tasks. Respiratory Equipment: BiPAP, High Flow, Vapotherm managed by respiratory staff. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday Requirement: Holiday Rotation. Floating Requirements: Yes, to take overflow patients within the scope. Scrub Color: Any professional scrub color is acceptable. Department specific orientation provided, including a preceptorship.
