Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist I to join a client office in Kannapolis, NC. This role involves patient registration, specimen collection, specimen processing, and delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, performing venipuncture on geriatric and hard-stick patients, and traveling to nearby locations as needed for coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform up to 30-40 blood draws per day while ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity.
• Register patients and accurately enter patient demographics into the system.
• Label, process, package, and prepare specimens according to laboratory procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with laboratory quality and safety standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with patients and healthcare staff.
• Work independently in a client office setting.
• Travel to surrounding locations when additional coverage is needed.
• Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Phlebotomy training program or equivalent education.
• Current Phlebotomy Certification required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience performing venipuncture independently using straight and butterfly needles.
• Comfortable performing blood draws on geriatric and hard-stick patients .
• Strong specimen collection, processing, and patient registration skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a client office environment.
