Summary Analyzes specifications, sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines to fabricate and repair injection molds, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools by performing the following duties.\n
\n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\n
\n
\nStudies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.\n
\n
\nMeasures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.\n
\n
\nSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.\n
\n
\nCalculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.\n
\n
\nStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.\n
\n
\nVerifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.\n
\n
\nSets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.\n
\n
\nFits and assembles parts into complete assembly.\n
\n
\nVerifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.\n
\n
\nInstalls machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.\n
\n
\nDevelops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.\n
\n
\nConfers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.\n
\n
\nUtilizes hand truck and/or operates fork lift truck as needed for internal transfer of hazardous materials to different locations within the Chromalloy facility.\n
\n

Education and/or Experience \n
\n
\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent and one to two years related experience and/or training.\n
\n
Language Skills \n
\n
\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.\n
\n
Mathematical Skills \n
\n
\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.\n
\n
Reasoning Ability \n
\n
\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\n

\nIs trained in the requirements of loading, labeling, transferring and moving hazardous materials in accordance with RCRA regulations.\n

\nThis position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.\n

\nThe salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions. \n
