We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Boise, Idaho. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating close activities, and ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly supported. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge and a hands-on approach to reconciliations, journal processing, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure deadlines are met accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support while maintaining compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Manage general ledger activity by reviewing account detail, researching discrepancies, and keeping financial data organized and reliable.
• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis to confirm accuracy and resolve outstanding variances in a timely manner.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching transactions, investigating exceptions, and clearing reconciling items promptly.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, answer accounting questions, and support routine reporting needs.• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for core general ledger functions.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet review.
• Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies independently.
• Demonstrated ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
• Solid understanding of general ledger structure, financial controls, and accounting best practices.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical skill in a deadline-driven environment.
