Apply today!Job DescriptionNaval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a Project Engineer for the Field Engineering team to interface with system and infrastructure engineering and subcontractors executing projects at the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho. Projects in the construction portfolio range from short duration (<1yr) to multi-year, multi-million-dollar projects, to replacement-in-kind or renovation of aging infrastructure and systems.The Project Engineer provides technical knowledge for the development and execution of construction projects without compromising safety, reliability, quality, schedule, and cost, as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.Essential Responsibilities:Prepares or coordinates the preparation of design documents (drawing and technical specifications, cost estimates, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, and equipment).Works closely with Project Manager, General Contractor, and sub-tiers to ensure project is constructed in accordance with contract documents and the applicable code(s) of record.Provides field support and inspections, to include monitoring progress and performance against project plans with the project team and taking action to resolve technical problems to minimize delays.May prepare engineering standards, designs, and work specifications, and supports project schedule and budget development, and forecasting.Reviews and approves technical submittals.Establishes and oversees architectural/ engineering field follow.Candidate will be required to obtain and maintain local qualifications including Engineer of Environmental Work, Excavation Permit Requestor, other quals as required.Develops and maintains healthy relationships with stakeholders, engineering, management, customers, and peers to ensure the progression and success of projects and the facility.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.Preferred SkillsExperience with planning and executing projectsExperience with development/review of cost estimatesProficient technical writerEffective communicator and problem solverKnowledgeable of 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations and StandardsKnowledgeable of Building Codes and StandardsCompensation and BenefitsHealth, Dental, Vision & Voluntary BenefitsDisability, Life & Accident Insurance401(k) Savings program & Capital Accumulation PlanPersonal & Medical Time OffPaid Parental LeaveFlexible Work SchedulesTuition Assistance for Eligible EmployeesStudent Debt Benefit Personal Time Off Sell ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Wellness ProgramVisit us online to view all NNL benefits!Pay Range$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guideline only.
