Director OF Revenue

Overview Director - Revenue Recognition - Houston - HYBRID Join to apply for the Director - Revenue Recognition - Houston - HYBRID role at BMC Software Responsibilities Creating and maintaining policy documents for key revenue recognition determinations. Reviewing proposed new product and service offerings and advising on internal and external revenue reporting / recognition impacts. Consulting with sales teams on potential transactions and advising on alternative terms and conditions to obtain optimal revenue treatment. Assisting the Financial Planning and Analysis group by providing revenue and bookings estimates for pending transactions. Reviewing significant and/or complex customer transactions closed during the period (including coordination and review of transactions evaluated by the team under management, and interface with the revenue accounting system to ensure accurate output based on revenue recognition conclusions), playing a key role in the overall accounting close process on a monthly and quarterly basis. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA and 15+ years’ experience with 10+ years’ experience specifically in Software Revenue Recognition. Strong understanding of US GAAP rules and ASC 606 as it relates to Software Revenue Recognition. 7+ years managing and leading teams. Experience working closely with external auditors and internal sales personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate complex issues. Previous experience using Zuora billing and revenue accounting systems is a plus. Big 4 Public Accounting experience is highly desirable. Compensation & requirements The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a range of factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The range listed is one component of BMC’s compensation package, which may include a variable plan and country-specific benefits. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $168,075 - $280,125 . At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at near the top of the range.
