Location: Columbia, SC Salary Range: $110,000 to $140,000An independent, full-service accounting and advisory firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals is seeking to hire an experienced Manager of Tax & Accounting to join their team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting within the organization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency. • Responsibilities for the Manager of Tax & Accounting will include managing all phases of tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research.
• Maintaining knowledge of prevailing tax laws and developments.
• Identifying areas where tax, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific concerns may impact clients and develop strategic recommendations.
• Preparing tax returns, including Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate.
• Coordinating complex accounting projects and initiatives with the accounting team.
• Working effectively within a team environment while fostering strong client relationships.
• Utilizing tax software such as Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Microsoft Office, and Intuit QuickBooks.Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and CPA certification.
• Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in a CPA firm (Required), Real Estate industry is a plus.
• Experience reviewing engagement work papers, addressing problems, and keeping partners informed of all important developments.
• Coordinating various engagement phases, including staff requirements, job planning, and scheduling.
• Supervising and mentoring staff accountants, providing feedback and evaluating their progress.
• Assisting in administrative functions as assigned by partners.
• Recognizing opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and identify workplace efficiencies.
• Proficiency in UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products preferred.
