Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP specialty provides expert nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. They are responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering comprehensive care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure and recovery phases.

Responsibilities:

• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical standards and patient needs.
• Implement and modify nursing interventions to optimize patient outcomes during and after cardiovascular procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing assessments, care provided, and procedural details.
• Assist physicians and device specialists with bedside procedures, including preparation of supplies, specimen collection, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Monitor and care for patients receiving moderate sedation, ensuring safety and response to any adverse events.
• Ensure compliance with departmental competencies and maintain proficiency in point-of-care testing, arterial and venous sheath management, and related procedures.

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited BSN program.
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Demonstrates strong clinical skills in cardiovascular patient care and procedural support.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
