The salary range for this position is $101,000 to $131,000. This is a one-year term position with the possibility of extension based on funding and organizational needs.

JOB SUMMARY The Senior Manager, Finance & Grants serves as FP2030’s lead operational resource for grant financial management, budgeting, forecasting, financial compliance, and fiscal stewardship. The position combines advanced grants management responsibilities with hands-on financial oversight to ensure that institutional funding is effectively administered, monitored, and reported throughout the grant lifecycle. The Senior Manager works closely with FP2030 leadership, program teams, the United Nations Foundation’s Finance team, donors, and external partners to oversee proposal budgets, grant implementation, cash flow, financial reporting, and grant closeout. The position provides day-to-day financial guidance, identifies and addresses financial and compliance risks, and supports informed decision-making by translating complex financial information into clear and actionable recommendations. This is a hybrid position based out of FP2030’s Washington, D.C. office and is a one-year term role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Planning and Analysis Lead the development of FP2030’s annual operating budget and project- and funder-specific budgets in partnership with leadership, budget holders, and the United Nations Foundation’s Finance team Prepare rolling forecasts, cash-flow and cash-on-hand projections, scenario analyses, and financial models to support resource allocation and organizational decision-making Analyze revenue, expenditures, commitments, and budget-to-actual variances; identify emerging financial risks and recommend timely corrective action Develop financial analyses and proposal budgets for new funding opportunities, renewals, and changes in organizational priorities Budget and Fiscal Management Monitor organizational and grant spending to ensure that expenditures align with approved budgets, donor restrictions, funding periods, and operational priorities Maintain oversight of restricted and unrestricted funds, funding allocations, anticipated revenue, and financial commitments across FP2030’s portfolio Partner with budget holders and regional teams to review spending, resolve variances, improve forecasting accuracy, and strengthen financial accountability Serve as FP2030’s primary operational liaison with the United Nations Foundation’s Finance team to reconcile financial data, resolve discrepancies, and respond to routine and time-sensitive financial requests Financial Reporting and Controls Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards, forecasts, and briefing materials for FP2030 leadership, donors, budget holders, and other stakeholders Lead the financial closeout of two major Gates Foundation grants, including expenditure reconciliation, final reporting, documentation, and resolution of remaining balances or commitments Support annual and grant-specific audits by preparing financial schedules, maintaining audit-ready records, responding to information requests, and tracking corrective actions Assess and strengthen financial controls, documentation standards, approval processes, and financial-management procedures in coordination with appropriate United Nations Foundation teams Grants and Compliance Manage the full grant lifecycle, including due diligence, award setup, agreements, implementation monitoring, donor reporting, amendments, renewals, and closeout Draft and administer grant agreements, subawards, contracts, amendments, and related documents in consultation with Finance, Agreements and Compliance, and Legal Monitor donor requirements, grant deliverables, reporting deadlines, payments, and subrecipient performance; identify compliance concerns and coordinate resolution Maintain accurate grant records and serve as a key operational contact for donors, program teams, and regional hubs on grant administration and financial-compliance matters SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Manager, Finance and Grants, Family Planning 2030 is a supervisory role EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION and/or EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The education and experience requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and professional background required for the position Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, international development, public health, or a related field required; master’s degree in a relevant or finance-related field preferred Eight or more years of progressively responsible professional experience in grants management, financial management, budget development, financial analysis, donor reporting, compliance, project management, contracting, or related functions Demonstrated experience managing complex grant portfolios, including budget development and monitoring, donor reporting, award compliance, agreement administration, and grant closeout Experience managing grants funded by bilateral, multilateral, governmental, or private funders; experience with federally funded awards, including USAID, preferred Experience supporting international grantmaking, contracting, or financial operations within an international development, global health, public health, women’s rights, international affairs, or related organization Experience collaborating with finance, program, legal, compliance, development, and other internal and external stakeholders to administer grants and resolve financial or compliance matters Experience using financial, donor, or grant-management systems such as Financial Edge, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, GIFTS, or comparable platforms preferred Writing samples may be requested as part of the interview process SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary to perform the essential functions of the position successfully Strong financial management skills, including budget development, forecasting, financial analysis, variance monitoring, cash-flow planning, and grant reconciliation Strong grants-management and compliance skills, with the ability to interpret donor requirements, monitor award performance, identify risks, and support timely corrective action Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex financial information into clear recommendations Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to prepare financial narratives, donor reports, agreements, briefing materials, and other business documents Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, grants, and reporting requirements simultaneously Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-management skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively and diplomatically with diverse internal and external stakeholders Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce and financial or grants-management systems preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready financial and grant records Sound judgment and a demonstrated commitment to integrity, confidentiality, discretion, and responsible stewardship of organizational and donor resources Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and contribute effectively within a fast-paced and collaborative environment Ability to meet regular attendance and punctuality requirements Willingness to travel up to 10% and represent FP2030 with professionalism and diplomacy WORK ENVIRONMENT The essential functions of this role will generally be performed in a typical professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment. Employees are expected to work on-site in accordance with the United Nations Foundation’s hybrid work policy, which currently requires regular in-office presence. LOCATION The United Nations Foundation’s headquarters is located in Washington, D.C. This position follows a hybrid work schedule. The employee is expected to work from the Washington, D.C. office three days per week and may work remotely two days per week.
