Hands-On, Operations-Focused Preschool Director

Role Overview

This is not a desk-only position. The Director is actively involved in daily operations, ensuring classrooms run smoothly, staff are supported, and expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and classroom flow
• Monitor ratios, staffing, and coverage
• Support teachers with supervision and problem-solving
• Ensure compliance with licensing (Title 22)
• Communicate with families professionally and promptly
• Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and school standards
• Step into classrooms as needed

Requirements

• Director or Assistant Director experience in a licensed childcare center required
• 3–5+ years in a preschool/childcare setting
• Strong understanding of operations, staffing, and licensing
• Proven ability to manage staff and ensure follow-through
