TRADESWORKER II - Electrician Lead

Electrician Lead Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent; three (3) years of electrical trade experience, including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience providing requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. License or Certification Valid Georgia driver's license. Preferred: Georgia Electrical Contractor license (as required by assigned duties). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must demonstrate proficiency in the performance of essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures needed to function effectively. Able to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. Purpose of Classification Lead a team of skilled trades workers performing day‑to‑day maintenance of county buildings and facilities. Essential Functions Lead and coordinate daily work activities of assigned crew, confer with supervisor to obtain directions, organize tasks, monitor status, inspect completed work, assist with complex/problem situations, provide technical expertise. Assist with training and instruction of co‑workers regarding operational procedures and proper equipment use. Assist with supervision of co‑workers by reporting employee problems and providing input on disciplinary action and performance evaluations. Complete daily facility maintenance tasks in assigned fields such as carpentry, welding, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Place, install, and test equipment to ensure it functions properly, then report to Trades Supervisor; act as Trades Supervisor in absence. Answer questions or help troubleshoot issues for customers and other departments. Inspect systems and perform preventative maintenance tasks (cleaning, re‑calibrating, repairing) as needed. Maintain team equipment and act as safety monitor on job sites. Ensure all work is completed properly and timely, notating work orders with details of completion and materials used. Additional Functions Collect quotes from outside vendors. Operate large equipment such as a bucket lift when required. On‑call work may be needed due to scheduling and daily business demands. Make recommendations to customers on equipment procurement. Perform other related duties as required. Equipment / Machinery / Tools Utilization: Operate, control, and monitor equipment, machinery, and tools ensuring adherence to standards. Verbal Aptitude: Utilize a wide variety of reference and advisory data and information. Mathematical Aptitude: Perform arithmetic operations, calculate decimals and percentages, compute percentages and ratios, calculate surface areas, volumes, weights, and measures. Functional Reasoning: Apply principles of rational systems, interpret instructions, use independent judgment to modify methods and standards. Situational Reasoning: Exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity evaluating information against subjective criteria.
